New Members, welcome to your first Trippin' through LIFE event! We are happy you are here!

Prepare to be astonished. The John C. Hitt Library is 21^st century and beyond. You will see the Automated Retrieval Center, or ARC, in action where the library stores almost the entire collection of books and other print materials. These items are stored in three-story tall rows of bins retrieved by a robotic arm. Originally constructed in 1968, the updated and repurposed library creates a unified center for learning, scholarly research, and engagement with innovative design for faster access to library services, technology and areas for collaborative and individual study. As a member of LIFE at UCF, you have borrowing privileges!

This Trippin' is indoors and there is an elevator if you don't want to use the steps. You are encouraged to visit the website for this incredible library especially the history section. library.ucf.edu/21st .

The closest Parking Garages to the library are Garage I and Garage H. Plan to arrive at least a 1/2 hour early: I) to hunt for parking and 2) to find the Hitt Library. (If you get really lost, ask any student for directions to Chik Fil A... the library is right next door.)

If you attended Orientation, please wear the lanyard and name tag you were given then. Make sure your LIFE hanging placard is visible. There will be a Trippin' thorough LIFE committee member in the library lobby to greet you. If you DIDN'T go to orientation and wish to attend this New Member Trippin', make sure you visit the Virtual Parking to get a day pass...it is a lot less expensive than a UCF ticket! parking.ucf.edu/permits/virtual-permits
