Remember, last year, when OUC made a presentation at one of our LIFE meetings? It was fabulous and they event brought goodies (lights and other energy saving handouts!) We have now been able to schedule a Trippin' to OUC, the Gardenia Campus Tour! Our tour will cover how drones are used, conservation efforts, renewable energy integration and how testing is conducted at the Grid Integration Lab (GIL)

The Gardenia Innovation and Operations Center: The center, where OUC researchers investigate renewable energy and other cutting-edge technology, combines conservation and aesthetics, using self-sufficient gardening and other practices to reduce water use and encourage wellness.

Rain Harvest Garden: The garden works in harmony with nature to grow medicinal and edible plants. It’s Florida-Friendly Gold Certified, showing our excellence in attracting wildlife as well as using organic fertilization and responsible pest control.

Living Wall The sustainable vertical garden of Florida-Friendly and drought-tolerant plants uses low-volume irrigation to conserve water.

Innovation Lab Where OUC tests technologies like floating solar, battery energy storage, and more on a small scale to better understand them and how they can be integrated into the grid.

OUC cannot accept donations so the registration cost of $10.00 covers all fees and a donation to the LIFE at UCF Gerontology Scholarship fund. You will receive a full refund if you cancel no later than April 6; after that date you will only be granted a refund if there is a wait list and someone on the list is willing and able to take your place.
